About Grab3D

Grab3D is a free library of 3D models for game developers. Every model is released under CC0: download it without an account, use it in commercial projects, change it, and never credit anyone.

Our mission

Good 3D assets shouldn’t depend on your budget. Solo developers, students and game jam teams need models that open cleanly in their engine, have a sensible scale and come with a license they don’t have to study. That is what we build: a library that is free to use for anything and stays that way.

  • Two quality tiers. 102 High Detail models (high-resolution PBR, 4K textures, for close-ups and renders) and 701 Lightweight models (stylized, mostly 2K or palette textures, ready to drop into a game).
  • Kits. Themed sets that share one style, so you can build a whole scene from one kit. All kits
  • Rigged characters. 24 models also come as a rigged variant with walk and run animations.
  • Formats. Every model comes as GLB, FBX, .blend, USDZ, OBJ, in real-world meters with the pivot at the base.
  • Browser tools. Recolor Studio, Kit Builder, Turntable Renderer and more run entirely in your browser. All tools
  • Guides. Engine import guides and format comparisons in the blog, and short definitions in the glossary.

How the models are made

Many models start as an AI-generated draft and are then corrected in Blender. Our kits are built procedurally by scripts in Blender. Every model is checked from several angles and its exports are verified before it goes online. None of it is handmade, and we say so openly: how our 3D models are made.

Why free?

The library is free and will stay free: no paywall, no download limits, no login. Later, unobtrusive ads or optional services such as custom models may help cover the costs. The library itself stays CC0.

Who’s behind Grab3D
