About this model
A top slewing tower crane built in game scale. The mast is 1.6 m square and stands on a 4.6 m cross base with concrete ballast, the lattice jib reaches 12 m and the counter jib 5.4 m, and the hook hangs at about 10 m. Real tower cranes are usually much taller, so this one fits next to small houses and city blocks without dwarfing them. Everything above the mast, from slewing ring and cab to jib, counter jib, winch and ballast, forms one piece that turns around Z. The trolley with ropes and hook block is parented to it and slides along the jib by about 1.5 m inwards and 4 m outwards. Two red warning lights glow softly. Thanks to the lattice structure it needs only 15,254 triangles. Place it over a building site with scaffolding and steel beams.
