About this model
Climb aboard the way real sailors did. This rope ladder 3d model shows a classic Jacob's ladder with 3 m of twisted hemp rope and ten turned wooden rungs, each resting on a small whipped ring. Both ropes run over the wide handrail of a planked bulwark section, held by whippings at the rail, and are belayed around two wooden pins in a pin rail on the inner side. The bulwark stands 2.9 m tall with dark wales, a teal trim band, inner frames, knee braces and brass bolts in the rail. Down the outer side the ladder hangs close to the planks and its lower end lies flat on a planked deck base of 1.9 x 2.05 m with knotted rope ends. Use it as a boarding point or remove the wall to hang the ladder elsewhere. Pair it with the Gangplank and the Crow's Nest. The model is built from 17,644 triangles with baked 2K PBR textures.
Good for
- Boarding ladder on a ship side
- Climbable element in a pirate game
- Treehouse or playground access
- Harbor and dock dressing

Engine import notes
Unity GLB · FBX
Import the GLB with the glTFast package or use the FBX. 1 m in the file = 1 Unity unit.
Unreal Engine FBX
Use the FBX. The model is built in metres. Unreal works in centimetres and converts on import, so it arrives at real size (2.91 m = 291 cm).
Godot 4 GLB · FBX
Drag the GLB into the FileSystem dock. Godot 4 imports it directly, with materials. The FBX works too (Godot 4.3+ imports it natively).
Blender BLEND · GLB
Open the .blend directly, or import the GLB via File › Import › glTF 2.0.
