About this model
Where a sailor keeps his spare shirt, his pipe and his letters from home. This sea chest 3d model is 90 cm wide and tapers slightly towards the top, as real sea chests did for a steady stand on a rolling deck. Warm ship wood planks run horizontally around the body, framed by dark iron corner brackets with rivets and a teal trim band under the lid. On both short sides a thick twisted rope handle runs through two wooden cleats with stopper knots on top. The flat lid of light planks has end battens, iron corner caps, a hasp at the front and two strap hinges at the back. The lid is a separate object called sea-chest_lid with its origin on the hinge axis, and the hollow inside shows planks and a floor. Unlike the domed Treasure Chest it holds no gold. It has 14,356 triangles and 2K PBR textures.
