Topology

How a mesh's polygons are structured and connected.

Two models can have the same shape and polycount but very different topology, and topology decides whether a mesh deforms cleanly, unwraps sensibly and behaves in modifiers. Red flags: non-manifold edges, overlapping faces, degenerate (zero-area) triangles and long thin slivers. Meshes meant for animation also want edge loops that follow joints and muscles. On Grab3D, AI-generated drafts are cleaned up in Blender before publishing: duplicate fragments and tiny splinters are removed, holes are handled carefully and noisy surfaces are smoothed, and every model is checked in renders from four angles. The result is a dense triangle mesh, not quad topology with edge loops laid out for animation. That is fine for rendering and placing, but plan a retopology pass if you want to subdivide, sculpt or rig the mesh yourself.
