About this model

Pilots glance at it before every landing. The windsock 3d model stands on a concrete footing with a base plate and a tilt hinge, from which a white mast rises to about 4.7 m. An orange obstruction lamp at the top glows through an emissive material. The swivel head with its bearing sleeve, arm and frame ring carries the sleeve, about 2.75 m long and painted in five orange and white bands, sagging slightly as in a moderate breeze. Head, ring and sleeve are one separate object, windsock_swivel, with its origin on the mast axis, so it rotates around the vertical axis to follow the wind. There is no lettering anywhere, and the count stays at 9,092 triangles with 2K PBR textures. As a light landmark of the Cozy Airport Kit it is at home beside a runway, near the Aircraft Hangar or on a small field with the Glider or the Propeller Plane.
