About this model
Somebody made it out just in time. This escape pod 3d model is an egg shaped capsule painted like a lifeboat: orange top and bottom, a white middle band with real seams and a ring of rivets, and a grey heat shield underneath. The domed front hatch has a porthole, a grip and two hinges, and it is a separate object with its pivot on the vertical hinge axis, so it can swing open to reveal a dark doorway. Two more portholes sit on the sides, handrails help with climbing out, and a parachute cap on top carries an antenna and a pink beacon. Three retro thrusters glow cyan below, two cyan lights frame the hatch, and four short legs keep the pod upright. Where the Space Capsule of the Cozy Space Kit serves as a cone shaped command module, this pod is the compact lifeboat. Size 2.15 x 2.10 x 2.90 m, 22,372 triangles.
