8 Free Medieval 3D Models for Your RPG (CC0)

Building a medieval scene and don’t want to spend a cent? These eight models come straight from our library: every one is CC0 (use commercially, no credit), textured, in real-world scale, and downloadable as GLB, FBX, .blend, USDZ and OBJ. Seven of them come from our themed kits and share one cozy, stylized look. The knight is a High Detail model for close-ups.

Loot and dungeon props

1. Treasure Chest: honey-toned planks, golden bands and a lock plate. The lid is a separate object hinged at the back, so it swings open in the engine to reveal a mound of coins and gems.

2. Mimic Chest: looks like the chest above until you notice the cartoon eyes, blunt teeth and pink tongue. The hinged lid makes a quick bite animation easy. Place it next to a real chest and let players guess which one is hungry.

3. Throne: lilac-grey stone on a stepped dais, red velvet cushions and a glowing gem that is a separate mesh, so you can make it pulse or recolor it per faction.

Arm your heroes

4. Iron Sword: a friendly, heroic silhouette with a gold crossguard and a blue gem in the pommel. It lies flat, so it works as a loot pickup, an inventory icon or a prop on a weapon rack.

5. Trebuchet: a cocked siege engine on spoked wheels. Arm, counterweight, sling and wheels are separate objects with sensible pivots: animate a full shot without a rig.

Build the world

6. Tavern: half-timbered village inn with a hanging sign, barrels and a bench out front. It is an exterior, which keeps it light enough as a street facade or map landmark.

7. Castle Keep: the tallest piece of the Cozy Medieval Kit: stone walls, four corner turrets with red cone roofs and a wooden staircase up to the entrance. A natural quest destination or strategy-game headquarters.

The hero

8. Armored Knight: a High Detail character in silver plate armor with a blue sun tabard. He is also available rigged with walk and run animations, so he can patrol your castle straight away.

Tips for mixing them

The kit models come from our Cozy kits and share one stylized pastel look, so you can combine them freely. The knight is far more detailed. Use him for close-ups, cinematics or key art, or let him stand next to the kit pieces as the story’s hero. Every model page lists its triangle count and file sizes, and where a model has many triangles (the tavern, the keep and the knight, for example) there is also a lighter file with roughly half of them for crowded scenes.

Missing something? A blacksmith forge, market stalls, a windmill? Head to the request board and wish it into existence. The most-wanted requests help us decide what to make next.
