About this model
This railroad switch 3d model splits one line into two. The straight route runs 8.0 m, two grid lengths of the straight piece, because with a 12 m radius the inner rails only cross about 6 m behind the toe. The branch follows the same 45 degree arc as the curve module and ends exactly where a curve would. Every part of a real turnout is easy to read: stock rails, a closed straight blade and an open curved blade, closure rails, the frog with its pointed nose and wing rails, and two guard rails. Long timbers carry both tracks, and three curved sleepers finish the branch. At the toe sits a dark ground lever with a red weight on a stone base, a throw rod and a lamp with four white glowing lenses. The model measures 7.8 m by 9.8 m and 1.5 m high, with 11,878 triangles and 2K PBR textures. Mirror it for a left hand switch.
