About this model
Two stout round towers flank a square gate block in this storybook gatehouse. The walls mix grey and warm peach stones with pale dressed corners, crenellated parapets run around the top, and coral cone roofs finished with gold finials carry small blue and yellow pennants. Between the towers, arched windows with blue shutters sit above the passage. The lowered iron portcullis is a separate object with its origin at the bottom centre, so you can slide it straight up into the wall, and behind it two wooden gate leaves are hinged to swing inwards. Arrow slits stay dark, and the towers are closed volumes. It pairs naturally with the castle wall, the castle tower and the drawbridge from the Cozy Medieval Kit. Tip: raise the portcullis slowly with a little camera shake for a dramatic castle entry.
