About this model
A festive timber grandstand built for the crowd at a joust. Three plank tiers with risers and benches climb towards the back, enclosed by board side walls with hand rails and a stair at the front corner. Across the front hangs a red-and-cream curtain with a yellow scalloped hem, and the breast rail carries a blue hanging with a yellow sun at the centre, marking the royal box with its red cushions, flanked by two small red hangings with stars. Eight posts hold a shed-roof canopy of blue-and-cream striped cloth with a yellow scalloped valance, gold knobs and fluttering pennants, while a striped cloth closes off the back. There is no heraldry and no text. From the Cozy Medieval Kit, where the jousting barrier completes the list field. Tip: fill the tiers with cheering spectators and add a fanfare when knights enter.
