About this model
One board, five shapes, the whole first chapter of VSEPR theory. This molecular geometry set 3d model lines up the basic geometries without lone pairs as ball and stick models, each on a steel rod and socket with all central atoms at one height. From left to right: linear CO2 at 180 degrees with double bonds as two sticks, trigonal planar BF3 at 120 degrees, tetrahedral CH4 at 109.5 degrees, trigonal bipyramidal PCl5 with 90 and 120 degrees and octahedral SF6 at 90 degrees. Pastel CPK colours keep the elements apart, including pink boron, orange phosphorus, mint chlorine and yellow sulfur. The two large shapes lean 38 degrees so their rods slip between the ligands. Board 69 by 13 cm, height 16 cm, 16,226 triangles. The single CO2 and Methane Molecules show one shape each, and the solids of the Cozy Geometry Kit are pure geometry rather than molecules.
