About this model
The snail shaped housing makes this turbocharger 3D model readable at a glance. On the cold side a bright aluminium compressor volute grows around the shaft and ends in a tangential outlet pipe, while its open inlet reveals a twelve blade compressor wheel. The wheel is a separate object named turbocharger_impeller with its origin on the shaft axis, ready to spin around X. On the hot side a dark cast turbine volute stands on its square inlet flange and carries a round outlet flange with bolts. Between both, the grey center housing wears a V band clamp and a copper oil feed line. A coral wastegate actuator on the side drives a chrome rod to the wastegate lever. The turbo measures 31 x 34 x 25 cm and has 7,856 triangles with 2K PBR textures.
