About this model

The complete vertebral column stands upright in its natural double S-curve, from the ring-shaped atlas at the top through the cervical, thoracic and lumbar vertebrae down to the broad sacrum and the small tapering coccyx. Each vertebra is modelled individually with its body, spinous process and transverse processes, and the vertebral bodies grow visibly larger towards the lower back. Blue-grey intervertebral discs sit between them, making it easy to point out a herniated disc or explain posture. The ivory bone texture is clean and slightly porous. The model suits physiotherapy and chiropractic explainers, orthopedics apps, ergonomics training and medical illustration, and the detailed geometry is made for stills, turntables and macro shots, and it can be reduced for interactive scenes. Tip: a side view shows the lordosis and kyphosis curves best.

Good for

  • Physiotherapy or chiropractic explainer
  • Back pain or posture campaign
  • Orthopedics app illustration
  • Ergonomics training material

Engine import notes

Unity GLB · FBX

Import the GLB with the glTFast package or use the FBX. 1 m in the file = 1 Unity unit.

Unreal Engine FBX

Use the FBX. The model is built in metres. Unreal works in centimetres and converts on import, so it arrives at real size (0.72 m = 72 cm).

Godot 4 GLB · FBX

Drag the GLB into the FileSystem dock. Godot 4 imports it directly, with materials. The FBX works too (Godot 4.3+ imports it natively).

Blender BLEND · GLB

Open the .blend directly, or import the GLB via File › Import › glTF 2.0.

Use it in: UnityUnrealGodotBlender
