About this model
Every x-ray image starts inside a glass bulb like this one. This x-ray tube 3d model is a teaching version of a rotating anode tube, held in two lilac ring clamps on steel rods above a lilac board. The clear glass envelope has steel end caps with three brass pins on the cathode side and a copper terminal bolt on the anode side. Inside, a focusing cup holds a warm glowing filament, and a thin blue electron beam crosses to the bevelled anode disc with its dark focal track. A subtle lavender x-ray cone leaves the focal spot through a flanged window. Anode disc, stem and copper rotor form the movable object x-ray-tube_rotor, which spins about the tube axis. Glass, beam and glow are unbaked meshes. Measurements: 41 cm long, 17 cm high, 26,560 triangles. The X-Ray Machine shows the full radiography room, this piece opens up its core.
