About this model
This prism 3D model turns the classic light experiment into a tidy desk scene. An equilateral triangular prism of clear, lightly blue tinted glass with softly rounded edges stands on a lilac experiment plate. On the left a small white ray box with a glowing slit and a lilac knob sends a white beam across the plate. The beam enters the glass, crosses it in a straight line and leaves the far face as a fan of six flat colour bands from red to violet that lie on the plate. Beam, rainbow and prism skip the bake, so they are easy to hide or recolour. Plate and ray box carry baked PBR textures. Unlike the Magnifying Glass, which bends light through a lens, this piece splits it into colours. The plate measures 26 by 13 cm, the prism stands 5.2 cm tall, and the model has 1,692 triangles.
