About this model
This gear 3d model shows a complete little gear train on a workbench base. Four involute spur gears with module 2.5 lie flat on vertical steel axles: a 40 tooth brass wheel, a 20 tooth steel pinion, a 30 tooth copper gear and a small 16 tooth steel gear. The centre distances follow the real formula, so every tooth sits cleanly in the gap of its partner and the train can turn without collisions. Aluminium spacer bushings lift the gears above the mint plate, hex nuts secure them on top and four socket head screws hold the plate. Every gear is a separate object, rotor_a to rotor_d, with the pivot on its axle, so you can animate the train with ratios of 2:1, 1:1.5 and 1.875:1. Unlike the closed Manual Gearbox from the car parts kit, all teeth stay visible here. The set measures 26.1 x 14.1 cm and comes with 25,016 triangles and 2K PBR textures.
