About this model
This rack and pinion 3d model turns rotation into a straight push. The steel rack has 28 teeth with module 3, a 25 by 25 mm cross section and a length of 26.4 cm, and it slides in two blue U guides. Above it an 18 tooth brass pinion with a 54 mm pitch circle meshes with the rack: the pitch line touches the pitch circle, so the bottom tooth of the pinion sits right in a rack gap. The pinion shaft runs in two blue pillow block bearings and ends at the front in a crank arm with a yellow grip. One full turn of the crank moves the rack by about 17 cm. Two parts can move: rotor is the pinion with shaft and crank turning on its axis, slide is the rack that travels along its length. Size 28.8 x 17.8 x 12.7 cm with 13,239 triangles and 2K PBR textures.
