About this model
A teaching style differential gear 3d model that shows how a car splits power between two wheels. A quarter of the blue axle housing is cut away and every cut face is painted red, like on a classroom model. Inside, the drive pinion with 11 teeth meshes with a 41 tooth ring gear, both bevel gears sharing one cone apex on the axle. The ring gear is bolted to an opened differential case that holds two side gears with 16 teeth and two spider gears with 10 teeth on a cross pin, all engaging correctly. Axle shafts lead out through the tubes to wheel flanges with five studs, and the pinion shaft ends in a companion flange. Two rotating parts: rotor_a is the case with all axle side gears, rotor_b the pinion. Compared with the closed Manual Gearbox it explains the inside.
