Hurrican is an award-winning freeware jump and shoot game by Poke53280, made as a loving homage to the Turrican series. You blast through huge levels full of secrets with an arsenal of upgradeable weapons, lightning attacks and grenades, backed by a phenomenal tracker soundtrack.

It plays fast, looks explosive and is widely considered one of the best fan games ever made.

03Tips for your first game of Hurrican

  1. Skip the intro with a tap, a click or any key.
  2. The keys 1 to 3 select a weapon directly. Hold the lightning beam and aim it with up and down.
  3. A second player can join on the number pad: 8, 4, 5, 6 and 2 to move, 0 to jump and Enter to fire.
  4. On a phone, play in landscape. In portrait the game pauses.

Improvements only touch the picture and the controls. Game logic and speed stay as in the original.

  • Runs in the browser via WebAssembly, built from the community source 1.0.9.3 with a web patch.
  • Rendering follows your display with the original delta time logic, so the game speed is the original one on 60, 120 or 144 Hz screens.
  • The picture always keeps its 4:3 shape, also in fullscreen and when you rotate a phone.
  • Fast loading, full tracker soundtrack and all sound effects.
  • Modern default keys without browser conflicts, plug and play gamepads and a touch gamepad for phones and tablets.
  • Automatic pause when you switch tabs, save export and import.
