About this model
Before clocks, the shadow of a bronze blade told the hour in every forum. The ancient sundial 3d model places a round marble dial on a short fluted marble column with an attic base, 16 flutes, a necking, an echinus and a square abacus. Below lies a two step sandstone base with a little moss. Inlaid bronze lines mark 13 hour lines laid out for about 42 degrees latitude, framed by an inner and an outer ring. Lines only, no numerals. The bronze gnomon with a round cut out stands on the noon line at a 42 degree angle and points north along +Y. Including the gnomon the piece is 0.72 m wide and 1.43 m tall, made of 12,818 triangles with 2K PBR textures. Gardens, plazas or puzzles about time across the Cozy Ancient Ruins Kit suit it well, and its column pedestal sets it apart from a flat garden dial.
