About this model
Halls along the Nile were held up by stone imitating bundles of papyrus. This egyptian column 3d model stands 4.36 m tall on a round base disc of 1.26 m. Its sandstone shaft is formed from eight bundled stems, giving an eight lobed section that bulges at the foot, where green leaf sheaths wrap around. Five painted binding bands in blue, red and gold tie the bundle below the top. The closed bud capital carries green sepal triangles and a blue zigzag band, topped by a square abacus. All paint is geometric, without hieroglyphs or figures. The mesh contains 17,516 triangles, uses 2K PBR textures and has its origin at the bottom centre. Rows of them build a colonnade for a desert palace in the Cozy Ancient Ruins Kit, next to the Egyptian Pyramid. Greek and Tuscan shafts such as the Ionic Column, the Corinthian Column or the Classical Column are round and fluted instead of bundled.
